Coffee and Honey Scrub

Home-made scrubs work amazingly to obtain clean and clear skin. One of the biggest advantages of homemade skincare products is that you know what you are putting on your skin. And of course, they are cost-effective. Homemade scrubs and face packs are loaded with natural ingredients which efficiently deep cleans the skin and makes it glow. 

Coffee and Honey scrub is a great for brightening, smoothening and reversing the signs of ageing. This scrub is suitable for dry, oily and combination skin. But if you have sensitive skin, you should do a patch test first to see how your skin will react to this.

Benefits of Coffee for Skin-

Lately, many cosmetic brands are incorporating extract of coffee into many skin care products. Coffee is loaded with caffeine and antioxidants. Antioxidants protect skin from free radicals which  causes skin ageing and fine lines. Caffeine, on the other hand, reduces fine lines and inhibits moisture loss. In simple words, Coffee just wakes the skin up.

Benefits of Honey for Skin-

Honey has antibacterial, antioxidant and moisturising properties. It purifies the skin by unclogging the pores. It is beneficial for sensitive acne prone skin as well.

Method of Preparation-

Take about 1 tsp of finely ground coffee powder in a bowl and add honey to make a thick paste.

Apply it to your face and gently rub it in circular motion with a light hand. Wash it off after 30 sec with water.

Word of Caution- 

- This isn’t a gentle scrub. Therefore, use it only once a week.

- It is recommended to do a patch test first.

- Make sure that the coffee powder is finely ground and no rough particles are present.
